Evita The Talent Machine Company announces auditions for its Summer 2008 teen (ages 13-18) musical production of "Evita". Directed by Dewey Oriente Musical Direction by Emily Petty Choreography and dance instruction by Lea Capps Audition Dates Saturday, May 10th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm – Stageworkz – Millersville, MD Saturday, May 17th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm -- Stageworkz – Millersville, MD Call Backs – June 7th   Casting decisions/ role assignments will be made by June 10th. The Show Dates are August 1-3 and August 7-10.  Show performances and tech week rehearsals will be held at St. John’s College, Key Auditorium.  Rehearsals for vocals and dance will begin in mid June and will be held 2-3 days or evenings per week.   Staging/blocking rehearsals for full cast will begin July 7th  and will be 5- 6 days each week.  Tech week rehearsals are July 24- July 31.  Teens ages 13 -18 are invited to audition.  The auditions will be scheduled in 30 minute timeslots assigned from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. on both Saturdays.  All Auditioners are asked to be prepared to sing (approximately 16 - 32 measures) of a Broadway pop music selection - showing your vocal range.  The auditioner should bring pre-recorded accompaniment music (karaoke style – no words) on tape or CD.  The auditioners will also be taught a short dance combination as part of the audition.  Auditioners should wear comfortable clothing and shoes that allow free movement for dance. All auditioners should reserve an audition time by clicking the "Timeslot" button at the top of this page.  Auditioners will receive a confirmation of their audition time via return email.  (If you do not receive an email confirmation within 3 days, please email talentmachine.com so we can be sure to register you for the audition times.)  Auditioners are asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to their audition time to complete the necessary audition forms. It will be helpful if you review and list any commitments that will result in rehearsal or show date conflicts from June 15th through August 10th.  You will need to provide this information at the time of audition. All auditions are open to new and previous members, there is a $5.00 yearly membership fee due at the time of audition. Here is what you need to know to audition:

All Auditioners are asked to arrive at the audition prepared to sing (approximately 16 -32 measures of a Broadway pop music selection - showing your vocal range.  The auditioner should bring pre-recorded music on tape or cd - Karaoke style -no words - cued to where you start to sing.   Be prepared to dance (wear appropriate clothing and footwear.)   Bring a photo if possible (any kind) to attach to your audition form.    All auditions are open to new and previous members, there is a $5.00 yearly membership fee due at the time of audition.   Parents will be asked to list areas they would like to help with the production.  Examples are set construction, publicity, costumes, box office.
